It was predicted to be one of the biggest flooring trends of 2023 and new research from wood floor experts Woodpecker Flooring shows that interest in herringbone oak flooring shows no signs of waning.

Research from Pinterest shows that in the last month, interest in the search term ‘oak herringbone floor’ has increased by 20 per cent, indicating it is a trend that is here to stay.

Darywn Ker, Managing Director of Woodpecker Flooring, said: “Herringbone was once used only in stately properties and period homes, but there has been a real surge in interest across all domestic settings.

“In smaller homes, wider herringbone planks can help make spaces appear more expansive while in larger settings, these wide planks are perfect when making a real style statement.”

Woodpecker Flooring’s range of herringbone floors covers all interiors styles, from the contemporary feel of cool grey to classic wooden tones. Its Highclere collection features wider planks, while Woodpecker’s high-tech Brecon herringbone collection offers the look of a classic parquet floor with modern advancements including built-in underlay and resistance to water.
